Coalition for Small Business Tax Fairness
As you may be aware, the federal government has recently proposed changes to the tax structure for private corporations. These proposals represent the most significant tax changes we have seen in years with the potential to have severe negative impacts on small business in Canada.
In order to voice our serious concerns about these proposals, Independent Financial Brokers of Canada has joined together with 34 other organizations to form the Coalition for Small Business Tax Fairness. Together, our organizations represent hundreds of thousands of independent businesses like yours.
Today, the coalition has written a joint letter to federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau asking that these proposals be taken off the table and for the government to launch meaningful consultations with the business community to address any shortcomings in tax policy without unfairly targeting independent business.
